Yes... my cravings have led me to another adventure in trying to make this wonderful tart. As you can see there are two versions, that is because it did not turn out the way i thought it would. It was tasty but just not as good as the original (or more like not even close). The second version is slightly better but still far from perfect. So anyone whow knows the key to making the perfect portugese egg tart, please let me know, thanks! ;P
Version 1.0
Version 2.0
hmm..i have a feeling that maybe u didnt make ur pastry nicely. i tried making cheese tart before and it's something like egg tart, and i remember to make the shape nicely u need to press the pastry to the cup nicely to form the right shape. but maybe portugese egg tart is differently lah. Anyway ahh, ur John 10:10 verse on top, the 'am' is suppose to be 'have', sorry ahh cant help noticing it :p
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean, but it is not the shape of the pastry that is the problem, because the pastry shape doesn't affect the taste too much.(besides the pastry was bought, dun have time to make it from scratch =P)It is something about the taste of the egg filling with the pastry that just doesnt have the strong lovely taste that the original egg tarts have. i need the original recipe for it, maybe then I can know what ingredients i missed. And the verse on top is correct, the "am" is put there according to the KJV, the words "am_come" is one word in greek, basically means "came" i think.
ReplyDeleteohh ic. rupa- rupanya. hehe :p
ReplyDeleteNot sure if it could help.^^
